Sounds of the Weak is a weekly sound and music recording project with little purpose other than to give you a reason to make recordings, to push and prod just a bit towards that end.  New assignments are given weekly based on a topic drawn from the suggestion box.

All resulting submissions are published to the podcast and rss feed.

Deadlines are quite flexible here.  Besides being acceptable to turn in recordings at your own pace, it is encouraged to browse through the back catalog and catch up on assignments that may now interest you but which you may not have been around for.
